Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. It requires long term treatment. Symptoms -  Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness. Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration. Sleep disturbances. Tiredness or lack of energy. Reduced or increased appetite.
